Sunbury Pumper
The Pumper is an urban truck and does not normally respond to incidents such as grass fires and burn-offs,
mainly because the truck is not designed for off road. It carries specialised fire fighting equipment such
as Breathing Apparatus, B.A cylinders, hydrants, 64mm & 38mm hoses, branches, forcible entry tools. The
appliance also carries specialised equipment such as hydraulic spreaders and a demolition saw for forcible
entry into buildings. It also carries a petrol powered positive pressure fan which is mainly used to remove
smoke from houses that have been smoke logged from a small fire. This is just a small sample of the equipment
that is on the appliance.
Sunbury Pumper/Tanker
The Pumper Tanker is a hybrid type appliance and has the ability to respond to incidents such as grass fires
and burn-offs, mainly because the truck is designed for on and off road use. It carries specialised fire
fighting equipment such as Breathing Apparatus, B.A cylinders, hydrants, 64mm & 38mm hoses, branches, forcible
entry tools. As you can see that this appliance is a very versatile fire fighting appliance.
It has the ability to put out house fires effectively as it has a higher rated pump than that of most tankers but it
can then go onto a grass fire as there is a work area on the back, similar to a tanker to enable fire fighters to
fight a running grass fire. This is just a small sample of the equipment that is on the appliance.
Sunbury Tanker 1
The tanker is primarily a rural truck that is designed to respond to incidents such as grass fires and burn-offs,
mainly because the truck is designed for off road. It carries specialised fire fighting equipment such as
Breathing Apparatus, B.A cylinders, hydrants, 64mm & 38mm hoses, branches and 'A' and 'B' Class foam.
This vehicle is the nominated appliance for our brigade that can be deployed to major bush and grass fires
around the state during the fire danger period. This is just a small sample of the equipment that
is on the appliance.
